Installation of TG2 Missing Dependencies

Reported by: nmcbride Owned by: anonymous
Priority: high Milestone: 2.0
Component: TurboGears Version: trunk
Severity: normal Keywords:

Doing a new install today, and the past couple days, I have noticed there are a few missing dependencies that you have to settle manually first to get TurboGears installed.

First, here is what I did:

virtualenv --no-site-packages proj3 cd proj3 source bin/activate easy_install -f  http://pylonshq.com/download/0.9.7 -U Pylons easy_install -U Paver mkdir svn cd svn svn co  http://svn.turbogears.org/projects/tg.devtools/trunk tgdev svn co  http://svn.turbogears.org/trunk tg2 easy_install tg.ext.repoze.who cd tg2 python setup.py develop

Here it processes and eventually gives this error:

ImportError?: No module named genshi

So to satisfy it: easy_install genshi python setup.py develop

And the next error:

ImportError?: No module named tw.api

So to satisfy it: easy_install toscawidgets python setup.py develop <-- installs fine now cd .. cd tgdev python setup.py develop cd ../.. paster quickstart proj3 ... cd proj3 paster serve development.ini

Now I open a browser and point it to: localhost:8080 and get:

ImportError?: No module named peak.util.decorators

So to satisfy that I stop the server and do: easy_install peak-RULES

After which I could start the server find and got no more errors. So the three things which you manually have to do and probably should be done automatically as dependencies are:

easy_install genshi easy_install toscawidgets easy_install peak-RULES

I've done this many times and came to the same results.
