Version of FormEncode being used doesn't have the UnicodeString validator

Reported by: Jorge Godoy <jgodoy@…> Owned by: anonymous
Priority: normal Milestone: 0.9
Component: TurboGears Version:

Description

The version of formencode 'locked' with TurboGears SVN doesn't have the recently added 'UnicodeString?' validator. This prevents the correct working of Unicode encoded forms. Upgrading formencode should be desirable.

We use the latest stable version. If there have been some nice things added lately to the svn version hopefully there will be a new release soon. I't best if we avoid having to many svn versions as dependencys. And you can always install the svn version your self.

I think UnicodeString? is crucial for international users and thus TurboGears can provide it the meantime while new formencode is not available.

Actually, I added UnicodeString? validator (it is only introduced if formencode doesn't have one). This way user is free to user validators.UnicodeString? regardless of formencode version installed.
