Ticket #681 (closed enhancement: fixed)

use alternateID for dropdown (when available)

It would be really nice if CatWalk provided the alternateId in the UI for foreign keys. For example, if I have something like this:

class Customer:

name = StringCol?(alternateID = True)

class Order:

customer = ForeignKey?("Customer") orderDate = DateCol?()

it would be really cool to have the dropdown show customer names, instead of the customer IDs.

This is supported in current version of CatWalk (don't know since when). When browsing an object, click on the table icon to the left and then select the attribute of the object assigned to the foreign key attribute. Now this will show in drop-down boxes wwhenever you have to select the object for this foreign key attribute.
