Nedd gcc too

Ubuntu

To install Turbogears on Ubuntu, the libc6-dev and python2.4-dev packages need to be installed:

sudo apt-get install libc6-dev python2.4-dev

These packages provide header files etc. needed to perform a compile. See also: DebianInstall

Addendum 24 Mar 06:

I just installed Ubuntu 5.10 for the first time and in addition to the above I also had to install gcc.

Tip:

Do NOT install python2.X-cherrypy, python2.X-sqlobject or any other packages that are used by turbogears. Remove all these Packages (via apt-get remove ...) and then install the versions in the turbogears thirdparty-directory.
